Boost post vs Ads Manager
The "Boost" button is quick but limited: it mostly buys likes and views. Meta Ads Manager lets you choose a business goal (leads, messages, calls, sales), control where ads appear and track results properly. For enquiries, use Ads Manager.
Pick the right objective
Meta optimises for whatever you ask for, so ask for what you actually want:
- Leads: instant forms that open inside Facebook or Instagram
- Messages: ads that open a WhatsApp chat with you
- Website leads: when you have a strong landing page
- Awareness: only when you want to be seen widely, such as a new shop opening
Target your area, not the whole city
Set a radius around your shop or office or choose specific areas such as Indirapuram, Vaishali or Raj Nagar Extension. In most cases, let Meta's algorithm find the right people within that area rather than stacking many interests.
If you advertise housing, jobs, credit or certain financial services, Meta's special ad category rules limit how you can target, so plan for that.
Creatives that work for local businesses
Local ads work best when they look real and familiar:
- Real photos and short videos of your shop, team and work
- A clear offer: a free consultation, a first-visit discount, a demo class
- Local cues people recognise, such as your area name or landmark
- Customer reviews (with permission)
- Text that works without sound, with the key message in the first seconds
Lead forms: quantity vs quality
Instant forms make it very easy to submit details, which brings more leads but sometimes less serious ones. Adding one or two qualifying questions (such as budget or preferred time) improves lead quality. Then call or WhatsApp every lead quickly.
How much should a local business spend?
Start with a budget you can sustain for a few weeks, because Meta needs time and data to learn. Judge results by cost per lead and how many leads became customers, not by likes. Increase the budget gradually on what's working.
Track results properly
Install the Meta Pixel and Conversions API on your website, track WhatsApp clicks and form submissions, and keep a simple sheet or CRM noting which leads became customers. That's the only way to know whether the ads are paying for themselves.
